P–V Loop Lab

Pressure-volume loops show how much work it takes to breathe and how lung disease changes that cost: fibrosis makes the lungs stiff and COPD makes airflow harder, enlarging the loop area. Click Normal, Fibrosis, or COPD, then drag the severity slider to see the selected loop change.
